Description
This charming knife is difficult to date as the hallmarks are slightly worn, but it is clearly Georgian. It measures 2 5/8 inches closed and is made with brass liners, rounded mother-of-pearl scales, ribbed silver bolsters, an inlaid silver cartouche engraved with the original owner’s initials “MAW”, and a tooled silver back bar sleeve. The solid silver blade has two worn hallmarks: a George III duty mark and the lion passant. This charming knife is in excellent condition.
