Edmund Bell Sheffield fruit knife maker

As a boy Edmund Parrott lived with Jonathan Bell (qv) and his wife, and was referred to as their nephew.

Jonathan was a renowned pocket fruit knife maker and taught Edmund his skills.

Edmund adopted the name Bell by the time he had reached the age of majority.

After Jonathan’s death in 1877 Edmund registered his own silver mark and continued making fruit knives from Montague Street until he sold the property in 1899.

Edmund Bell died aged 58 in 1910.

“EB” Sheffield silver marks registered 6 September 1877, 17 March 1900 and 17 February 1902.
