Description

This charming knife was made prior to 1792. It measures 3 inches closed and is made with thin brass liners, rounded iridescent mother-of-pearl scales carved with olive branches and a complex sunburst on the face scale and with crossed arrows and a sunburst on the reverse scale. The ribbed silver bolsters are slightly extended. The back bar has is gadrooned with the pattern extending to the spine of the blade. The solid silver blade has two hallmarks: a tri-cuspid George III duty mark and the lion passant. There is a hairline crack across the face scale otherwise this splendid knife is in excellent condition.
