Description
Pocket fruit knives by Leopold Heinzmann are really quite rare.
He was a silversmith based in Brixton, London and was primarily a maker of silver watch cases. He is known to have made only a small number of pocket fruit knives.
This bijou example is 2 1/4 inches closed and is made with brass liners, flat mother-of-pearl scales, silvered bolsters and a solid silver spearpoint blade. The scales are finely carved and the blade has four hallmarks from the Sheffield Assay Office with the Sheffield crown, lion passant, date letter ‘U’ for 1912 and the maker’s mark “LH”.
This rare pocket fruit knife is in very good condition.
