Made in Sheffield in the Battle of Waterloo year, this pocket fruit knife measures 3 1/8 inches in the closed position. Assayed at the Sheffield Assay Office with three hallmarks: the Sheffield crown over the date letter ‘o’, lion passant, and George III duty mark. The Assay Office inadvertently stamped the crown/date letter punch upside down. The knife is made with brass liners, rounded mother-of-pearl scales with carved fluted edges, silvered bolsters, an inlaid vacant cartouche and a stepped silver back bar sleeve. The knife is in excellent condition.
