Made in Sheffield in 1836, this substantial pocket fruit knife measures 3 1/2 inches in the closed position. Assayed at the Sheffield Assay Office with five hallmarks: the Sheffield crown, lion passant, and William IV duty mark stamped on its side and the maker’s mark “WN”. The knife is made with brass liners, plain mother-of-pearl scales, silvered bolsters, an inlaid vacant cartouche and a stepped silver back bar sleeve. The knife is in excellent condition.
